Why is football even called soccer when both are the same?
Well folks, here's a fun little nugget of trivia for all you football...or should I say, soccer enthusiasts! Ever wonder why we Americans insist on calling the beautiful game by a different name? It's actually due to our British buddies across the pond, who originally coined the term 'soccer' to differentiate it from their own version of football. But as much as they love to tease us for it, they started the trend! So, regardless of the name, whether you're a soccer fanatic or a football devotee, we're all cheering for the same thrilling sport. Isn't language a hoot?
